Float-operated butterfly valve
L 32 176-616 PN 16 , L 32 106-610 PN10

Application
Shut-off valve - which automatically
regulates flow into and out of tank according
to the liquid level. For water or other non-
aggressive services at temperatures and
pressures of up to 100°C and maximum
pressure drop of 0,6 MPa.

Technical description
The butterfly valve is two-way. The dics is
centrally pivoted on he shaft, which turns in
sliding bearings and are sealed with O-rings.
Arubber collar forms the sealing surfaces and
the flow passage of the body. The float closes
(opens) the valve when the liquid level rises
(falls). The movement of the float is limited
by stop-bolts. Dimension B is the distance
between the valve and float.

Connection
Face-to-face dimensions are as per DIN 3201
K1. Connecting dimensions allow the valve to
be clamped between PN 6, 10 and PN 16
flanges. A rubber collar forms the sealing
surfaces.

Materials
Body grey cast iron (GG-25)
Valve disc PN 16 brass (CuZn37)
PN 10 stainless steel
Shafts stainless steel (13Cr)
Collar rubber (EPDM)
Shaft sealing O-ring (VITON)
Float, lever, rod carbon steel

Testing
Valve is tested as per DIN 3230.2

Installation
The butterfly valve can be installed in
horizontal or vertical piping, centrically
between flanges (in the open position the
valve disc extends beyond the valve body).
The valve shaft must be horizontal. When
installing the valve, care must be taken to
ensure that the float will move vertically.

Operation
The butterfly valve is operated automatically
by the float. If the liquid surface is not calm
the float can be installed in a separated section
of the tank.
