Pneumatic actuator ROTADISK


Application
Air actuator ROTADISK have been designed
for actuation of ball valves and butterfly
valves. They work as a lever of the first kind.
Energy which is generated when the air
pressure operates two travelling pistons is
transmitted by double lever on the output
shaft of the actuator. This design enables
optimal valve actuation. Kinetics of this
mechanism offers maximum torque in the
beginning and in the end, i.e. when opening
and closing the valve. Air actuator power
output depends on driving pressure size. Air
actuators ROTADISK run at pressures from 3
up to 8 ATM.

Basic types

ROTADISK type RD:
Double-acting pneumatic actuator, air opens and shuts the valve. Double-acting pneumatic actuators are manufactured from Rd 2,5 up to RD 640, note: torques are from app. 25 up to 10200 Nm.

ROTADISK type RDF:
Single-acting pneumatic actuator, air opens the valve, spring shuts the valve (also available converse function), Single-acting pneumatic actuators RDF are manufactured from RDF 2,5 up to 640.

There are 3 basic spring combinations for each air actuator size. They are always figured after the actuator size -1, -2, -3.
-1: the least powerful combination (small
spring for each cylinder), it is used for low
driving pressure up to app. 4 Atm
-2: medium combination (large spring for
each cylinder), it is used for driving pressure
up to 6 Atm
-3 the most powerful combination (large and
small spring for each cylinder), it is used for
driving pressure app. from 5 to 8 Atm

 

Suitable driving air
Driving air must be filtered (max. solid particle to 50 micron), dry. Needed
not to be lubricated.
Max. pressure: 8 Atm
Note: Specially adapted actuators can be powered by non-aggressive liquids

Service environment
Air actuators ROTADISK are used for (in standard configuration): from -
20°C up to 80°C.
Actuators can work up to 180°C when specially adapted (must be extra
ordered).
